The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has directed the rank and file of the Party to strictly adhere to all the Covid-19 safety protocols in the conduct of all party and campaign-related activities.
He entreated Party organisers to “make provisions for thermometer guns, veronica buckets and hand sanitisers at all times during party programmes.”
This follows President Akufo-Addo, the NPP presidential candidate's call on political parties to ensure that the various Covid-19 safety protocols are being observed at campaign grounds, in his 19th address to the state on measures put in place by government to curb the spread of the virus.
The Chairman called on NPP leadership at various levels to ensure that all members strictly adhere to the social distancing protocols and ensure the wearing of face masks at all party gatherings.
He further thanked party leaders for “mobilizing the grassroots and selling the good work of President Akufo-Addo and our party,” and pledged the party’s evergreen support to government’s fight against the virus and building the nation.
In conclusion, the NPP Chairman congratulated the President and the government for the strides made in ensuring that the Covid-19 disease is kept under control, and for Ghana’s remarkable performance on the international front.
“The New Patriotic party (NPP) commends the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and government on their commitment to fighting the novel coronavirus pandemic, result of which is shown in the Ghanaian success story which has been recognized around the world as Ghana placed 3rd in the list of successful countries in the fight against Covid-19,” the statement read.
