President Nana Akufo-Addo together with his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have both signed the book of condolence opened for the family of the late Jerry John Rawlings.
The President and his Vice signed the book this afternoon when they visited the family of the late Jerry John Rawlings to commiserate with them.
Ex-President Rawlings died yesterday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.

In his tribute, President Akufo-Addo's stated: "Your role in the establishment and development of the 4th Republic as the most enduring Republic of our history is truly exceptional. Ghanaians appreciate your leadership of our nation and will remember you accordingly. For me, I appreciate very much your friendship. Commandant, farewell and rest peacefully in the bosom of the Almighty."

The Vice President in paying his tribute said: “It was such shocking news. So sudden. So unexpected. But God knows best. When the history of Ghana is written, the phenomenal role you played in building our nation can never be forgotten. You were so kind and cared about the poor. May your soul rest in perfect peace.”
