She just became the youngest inaugural poet in history, but Amanda Gorman is not slowing down when it comes to milestones. Now, the 22-year-old has officially signed with IMG Models.
As announced on January 25 via a press email, under the guidance of the leading modeling agency, the National Youth Poet Laureate will now work to expand her personal brand through endorsements and editorial opportunities.
Amanda recited her original work "The Hill We Climb" at the Presidential Inauguration on January 20 — wearing Prada, looking fabulous — bringing global attention to her extraordinary talent.
Amanda's move into the world of fashion is not unforeseen, however, given her past work within the industry, specifically focused on sustainability.
"Change is occurring in the fashion industry, and it’s a shift that each of us can advocate for across all brands," Amanda told Teen Vogue back in 2019 while working as a reporter for Prada on their sustainability mission.
"At times the climate emergency can seem so overwhelming that we’re frozen in apathy or fear. But solutions exist, especially when we make materials with informed purpose. Whether you shop at Prada and/or your local thrift shop, each dollar we spend on a sustainable product is an investment in the future we stand for."
National Youth Poet Laureate, the youngest to recite at the Presidential inauguration, and now a future leading model? To put it simply, we love to see it.
