The Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Cape Coast, the Most Reverend Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle has revealed that he is responding well to Covid-19 treatment at the Ga East Hospital in Accra.
The Archbishop disclosed his medical status in a short video taken at the recovery garden inside the hospital.
He further explained that he made the video to encourage anyone afflicted by the virus not to be afraid but to believe in the healing power of God.
"I just thought sending this message out to those of you who are my loved ones, at least it will let you know, I have survived it for five days and therefore I encourage anybody who is afflicted not to be afraid because, yes Covid is real but healing is equally real if we will do the best," he stated
In his video, he stressed on the need for all Ghanaians to "continue to pray for those who are patients like myself, a privileged one."
"May God take our impatience even as prayer and bring us healing," he added.
Going further, the Archbishop urged Ghanaians to pray and commit to God all 'stretched out and stressed' frontline workers, doctors and nurses for the good work they are doing.
Adding that, "Prayer, protocols and prayer," is the only way the pandemic will be combated.
"My advice is what I call the three, 'P's - prayer, protocols and prayer. Let us continue praying, thanking God for the doctors, the nurses, the front line workers and the great good job they are doing.
"They are really stretched out and stressed out, they need our prayerful support, love and and concern for themselves and anything God can help them to do."
Mr Palmer Buckle joins the list of prominent personalities who have come out to disclose their Covid-19 status including award-winning journalist and JoyNews editor, Israel Laryea.
Meanwhile, 791 more cases have been recorded, bringing the country’s number of active cases to 6,095.
According to the Ghana Health Service, nine new deaths put the death toll at 449 as the cumulative infections hit 70,046 with 63,502 recovered/discharged.
