Social media has in the last few hours been a-buzz with varied comments following the news about President Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia taking the Covid-19 vaccine jab.

Akufo-Addo and his wife, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo at about 9:00 am this morning took their Covid-19 vaccine injection at the 37 Military Hospital, while Mr Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia took theirs at the Police Hospital at 10:00 am and was broadcast live on television.

This step by the President and his Vice is considered as a sign of leadership by example and is expected to boost public confidence in the new vaccines procured for Ghanaians.

Using the hashtag #Iwilltakethevaccine and #thevaccineissafe, a section of social media users say the decision is in the right direction.
