A navy officer with the Western Region’s Eastern Naval Command has been detained at the Naval Base in Sekondi for allegedly inflicting knife wounds on Airforce personnel, Bernard Ababio.
The suspect, Umar Sahid Abubakar, a leading seaman, is said to have caught the victim having sex with his wife in their matrimonial bed at Ketan.
Thus, out of rage, the navy officer reportedly took a knife and cut the left upper cheek and back waist of Mr Ababio.
Narrating the incident of Mr Sahid Abubakar’s arrest, the police told a Takoradi-based radio station that the culprit reported to the Sekondi police.
He was there to lodge a complaint against Mr Ababio for biting his index finger during a confrontation.
But whilst filing his complaint, Mr Ababio also arrived at the same police station to lodge a complaint of assault against him.
Mr Sahid Abubakar was consequently arrested and Mr Ababio was issued a police medical form for treatment.
