Fiancee of South African rapper AKA, Anele 'Nelli' Tembe, was reported to have passed away after she allegedly fell from the 10th floor of a hotel, identified as Pepper Club Hotel, in Cape Town.
So far, details surrounding the death of the 22 year old remain uncertain.
According to the hotel manager, Efi Ella, the incident occurred around 7:30 am on Sunday, April 11. He stated that the police was called after they got a call.
Spokesperson of the South African Police Service, FC Van Wyk said they have launched an investigation into the death of Miss Tembe adding that they have been looking for clues at the hotel.
According to reports by news site IOL, when paramedics were called to the scene the victim was still alive. However, despite the first aid being administered, she passed.
“Reports from the scene indicate that a 22-year-old female had allegedly jumped from the tenth floor, landing on the road below.
“Medics assessed the patient who had sustained critical injuries and was treated on scene by an advanced life support paramedic. While stabilizing the patient her condition rapidly deteriorated and she was sadly declared deceased on the scene," Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst told IOL.
Miss Tembe and AKA'a family released a joint statement confirming her death adding that the news came as a shock to them.
“We are still in shock and are dealing with our emotions, as she was an exceptional and gifted young woman, with so much life ahead of her," part of the statment read.
They added that the rapper is inconsolable thus he is surrounded by family and closest friends.
Anele ‘Nelli’ Tembe, the late 22 years old was engaged to rapper AKA in February 2021. Rapper AKA, born Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, had shared a picture with a ring on Miss Thembi's on February 21 to announce the news.
The pair had been going out for over a year. Although Nelli Tembe’s Instagram handle is private, fiancé AKA often posted her on his Instagram handle. She was also a model for his clothing line ‘Bhovamania.’
