As part of measures to combat illegal mining, some 401 military personnel have been deployed from the Ghana Armed Forces by government to commence the fourth phase of Operation Halt.

Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has alleged that the NPP administration leveraged the NDC MPs 'Double Salaries' saga under the erstwhile Mahama administration to demand approval of the President's ministerial nominees.
