The National Security Minister says former Ashanti Regional Security Liason Officer DCOP (Rtd) Ayensu Opare Addo was removed from office by men from headquarters because he was obstructing the work of his successor.
Responding to questions in Parliament, Wednesday, Albert Kan Dapaah explained that DCOP Opare Addo's two-year contract was cancelled midway by the National Security Cordinator but refused to leave office.
He said negotiations to get him to leave office proved futile, prompting the National Security Coordinator to send men to Kumasi to change the office's locks, but he was hostile to the team.
DCOP Opare Addo has alleged he was assaulted by the men when they stormed his office.
But Mr Kan Dapaah said no such official complaint has gotten to him.
He accuses DCOP Opare Addo of drawing his side arm on the team that went to change the locks.
