The Northern Region has recorded four new Covid-19 cases after two months of registering the last case.
Three of the affected persons are residents and one is a 65-year-old man who returned from Zimbabwe recently.
Deputy Public Health Director, Dr Hillariouse Abewu who disclosed this, said the 65-year-old patient reported at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on June 13 and his sample was taken the following day.
However, on June 15 when the result was ready, the patient had died.
Dr. Abewu said persons who had come into contact with him were traced and tested. The three of them tested positive but are doing well.
Since April this year, the Northern Region has not recorded active Covid-19 cases until last week when these cases were recorded.
The region has recorded 1,085 Covid-19 cases from the beginning of the year with 30 deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic.
