This is to enable it to establish developmental outcomes towards coordinating the preparation of the District league table III under the theme "Developing the District Analysis table for child-responsive inclusive development as a tool for achieving the SDGs for children".
The four-year policy framework (2018-2021) dubbed, “Agenda for jobs; Creating Prosperity and Equal Opportunity for all”, was prepared to operationalize government’s coordinated programme for economic and social development.
Bono East Regional Coordinating Director, George Padmore Mensah who launched the Report on behalf of the Regional Minister charged the Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to monitor, evaluate and report on the progress of implementation of government policies and programmes.
"It is appropriate that you as key stakeholders would provide concrete feedback to the NDPC to improve upon the data provided for the preparation of the progress reports," he said.
He also urged the participants to "take the workshop seriously and feel free to seek clarification on issues that would be discussed and give feedback to enable the NDPC to improve the quality of their reports and help informed decisions at all levels".
On behalf of the Director General at the National Development Planning Commission, the team leader at the workshop, Isaac Eweh indicated that the commission is in collaboration with UNICEF developing a District league table that ranks Districts based on their services to the people.
"We have conducted a mid-term evaluation on the current policy framework (agenda for jobs). We also reviewed all the 260 annual progress reports submitted by the Districts to the commission and finally, we are in collaboration with UNICEF to prepare a District League table where Districts are ranked based on the services that they provide to their people".
Mr Padmore Mensah led the commission to officially launch the Medium-term National Development Policy framework.
The District League Table III (DLT), which served as a tool for tracking national development, highlighting districts that were performing well and ones, which were handicapped was also launched.
