Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom says he will return to former club Asante Kotoko before he hangs his boots.
Inkoom, who currently plays for FC Torpedo Kutaisi, played for Kotoko at the start of his career.
The right back played 26 games for the Porcupine Warriors in the 2008/09 season.
His impressive performances with the Reds earned him a move to Europe with Basel where he played in the UEFA Champions League.
12 years after leaving the Kumasi-based club, Inkoom has vowed to play for Kotoko before he retires.
At age 32, the time to play for 24-time Ghana Premier League champions seems sooner rather than later with the former u-20 World Cup winner entering the twilight of his career.
Inkoom admitted on Angel TV he was close to signing for the Porcupine Warriors last season.
“It’s true Kotoko wanted to sign me last season, they sent me first offer, I said no, they sent second and third offer, I said no. we were talking but later on I saw that the money is not there”
“I told them Kotoko gave me the platform and I am ready to come and help. So, when Nana Yaw Amponsah approached me we spoke a lot about me coming back and I didn’t say no because I was willing to come back,” he added.
Despite the move falling through last season, the former Dnipro player wants to play for the Kumasi-based club before he calls timeout on his career.
“I’m a fan of Kotoko and before I will even retire from football I will come and play for Kotoko even for nothing I don’t mind.”
Inkoom has played for 13 different clubs so far in his 14-year career.
