Traders and motorists in Accra’s busiest market, Makola, are incensed over what they say is neglect of roads in the area.

It is the city centre of Ghana’s capital with hundreds of business activities operating around structures that were famous symbols for commerce in Ghana after independence.

But some of the traders say it is a pale shadow of its former self.
