The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has outdoored new activities it will be embarking on during the Christmas season as part of the 'Beyond the Return' initiative.
At a press conference held on Monday, the CEO of the Authority, Akwesi Agyeman, stated that the activities will take place at respective venues that have been confirmed by stakeholders.
He listed many events that have been certified to occur and urged all parties to create adequate awareness about them by promoting them.
They include AfroChella, the Polo Beach Club, Rethemes on the Runway, GUBA Awards, Taste of Ghana, Quanza in Ghana and The Diaspora Transition Conference.
The Secretariat has engaged the organizers of the Takoradi festivals and the event organizers of the centenary celebration of Yaa Asantewaa.
According to him, these are some of the events they anticipate adding to the already confirmed events.
The GTA CEO revealed that by November 1, the final list of events marked for December 2021 will be ready and shall be uploaded on the website of the 'Beyond the Return' and the website of 'Visit Ghana'.
He called on organizers whose events have not been listed to contact the Secretariat for the necessary actions to be taken.
The press conference, held at the Accra Tourism Information Center (ATIC), was attended by the Director in charge of Standards and Quality Assurance, Alex Boakye, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Technical Services, Ekow Samson.
A member of the Beyond the Return Sterling Committee, Lawyer Kwame Acheampong, and the Minister of Tourism, Art and Culture, Mohhameh Awal, were also present.
