Ghanaian duo, Tariq Lamptey and Mohammed Salisu were in action for Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton respectively in their Premier League games on Saturday.
Lamptey, made a third consecutive substitute appearance for the Seagulls as Graham Potter continuously eases him back into the team after a lengthy time on the sidelines.
The English-born player was introduced in the 66th minute of the game against Liverpool – immediately after they equalized after going two goals down in the first 24 minutes of the game.
The versatile defender completed two of his three attempted duels while completing all of his attempted dribbles (2), as Brighton held on to take a point away from Anfield.
In the game between Watford and Southampton, Salisu was named in the starting lineup for the Saints – who won by a 1-0 scoreline to move up on the Premier League table.
The Ghanaian has been in tremendous form for Ralph Hassenhuttl’s men, starting nine of their league games this season while making one substitute appearance.
The clean sheet away from home against the Hornets means, Salisu has played a role in the team not conceding on three occasions in the English top-flight in the 2021/22 campaign.
The centre-back’s next duty will come next weekend when they face an improved Aston Villa side at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
