Bishop Herman College (BIHECO), one of the highly-rated second-cycle schools in the Volta Region, is fast falling apart.
The school is bedevilled with challenges, most of them being infrastructural.
Most of the structures in the school, including dormitories, have developed deep cracks, rendering them unsafe for use.

The Giant block of the school, which contains dormitories, storerooms, and a library, leaks anytime it rains.

Parts of the roof of the Giant block had been ripped off after a heavy rainstorm.

Several construction works, including a dormitory block that was commenced over a decade ago, have been abandoned.
The roads within the school are in a bad shape. As a result, for several years, buses that serve the school's transportation needs have not been able to hit the road.

BIHECO is also grappling with sanitation issues. A pungent stench emanates from the latrines dedicated to students usage, posing a severe health risk.

Students of the school fear that they are sitting on a time bomb as a disaster may strike at any time.
Old students of the all-male school have targeted to raise ¢500,000 for the rehabilitation of the Giant block as well as to address other pertinent issues affecting the school.

Municipal Chief Executive for Kpando, Geoggrey Kodzo Badasu, has assured school authorities of support from the Assembly.
He also called for an all-hands-on-deck approach in restoring the beauty of the school.
"Just assumed office weeks ago so I'm yet to meet Management. We will look at institutions that require support and of course, my alma mater will be on top of the list," he told the media after some old students toured the school to assess the situation.

Volta Regional Minister, Archibald Yao Letsa also assured support from the government to ensure that abandoned projects are completed.
