The Ningo-Prampram MP, Samuel Nartey George, has asked government to reveal the status of the private jet used by President Akufo-Addo for his foreign travels.
In a tweet on Sunday, he said he spotted the jet on the tarmac at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Saturday night; thus information regarding the private jet has become relevant.
"So is the luxurious private jet still rented or it is now owned by the President of Ghana? I spotted the jet on the tarmac at KIA last night. We need to know," he communicated.

Mr George's question follows an allegation by his North Tongu colleague that President Akufo-Addo has monopolised the blue and white luxury LX-DIO private jet since July.
Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has alleged that it costs the Ghanaian taxpayer $14,000 per hour every time the President uses the jet.
“It is instructive to note that since July, the blue & white luxury LX-DIO has not been available for others to lease due to Akufo-Addo’s reckless monopolisation at great cost to the Ghanaian taxpayer (in excess of GHS15million thus far).
“When a president decides in a combined effect to live as a Russian oligarch, a British aristocrat, and an Arabian King, he would certainly need to impose killer taxes to sustain his intemperance,” he said in a Twitter post.

Meanwhile, Mr Ablakwa who is also the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, has said the presidential jet has been turned into a presidential Uber for other African heads of state.
He claims the Falcon jet has been used on more than 10 occasions by other African heads of state to go about their business when President Akufo-Addo rents private jets for his international trips.
