The Kintampo Municipal Hospital has taken delivery of hospital equipment and materials from the Martin Luther Health Training School also in Kintampo.
The initiative is part of activities by the training school to commemorate the celebration of Martin Luther King Junior Day Celebration on Monday.
Designed to honor and celebrate the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jnr, it falls on the third Monday of January every year.
Named after the African-American freedom fighter, the Martin Luther Health Training School in Kintampo, every year donates to a selected facility or institutions to commemorate the day.
The Proprietor of the School, Dr Wilfred Agbenyikey said, it is in the DNA of the school to support health care equity and that this was its widow’s mite to encourage and support the Hospital in saving lives and providing healthcare for all.
“We are excited to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr’s Day with the Kintampo Municipal Hospital today. This hospital is the cornerstone of our community and we thank them for what they do, especially their efforts in health equity to all.”
Hospital Matron, Osei Baffour Forkuo and Secretary, Pascal Dapilla received the donation on behalf of the hospital from a team led by Ishaq Meriga Alhassan who is the Principal of the School.
The Kintampo Municipal Hospital has been instrumental in the healthcare delivery for the Kintampo and its surrounding communities.
Co-proprietor, Dr Maame Duah Agbenyikey thanked the hospital for its service to mankind.
