The Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC) has presented six new pick-up cars and a 65-seater bus to six Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Region to facilitate administrative duties.
This, the Northern Regional Minister, Saani Shaibu said, is in line with Nana Akufo-Addo's government educational policy of making Senior High Schools vibrant under his administration.

The beneficiary schools are Tamale Senior High School, Ghana Senior High School, Gushiegu Senior High School, Zabzugu Senior High School, Kasulyili Senior High School, and Tatale Senior High School.
The Tamale Senior High School received the 65-seater bus and a pick-up truck, while the rest received pick-up trucks each.

Alhaji Saani Shaibu, who presented the vehicles to the Regional Education Director on behalf of the President during a brief ceremony, said more buses and pick-ups are on the way for other schools in the Region.
He said, unlike other governments, the NPP government is bent on delivering its mandate hence the presentation of cars.

Mr Shaibu urged the schools to use the cars for the purpose for which they were given.
He also urged them to develop a maintenance culture to increase their lifespan.
The Northern Regional Director of Education, Dr Peter Attafuah, commended the President, the Regional Minister and the Sector Minister for the new vehicles.

He also assured that the cars would be put to good use.
The Northern Regional Chairman of CHASS and Headmaster of the Tamale Senior High School, Rev Edward Azika, expressed gratitude to the President and the Sector Minister.
He said the various schools will ensure regular maintenance to ensure its longevity.

Rev. Edward Azika made an impassioned plea to communities that request school vehicles to assist in maintaining the cars, noting that it takes more than just fuel to maintain and keep a bus running.
