Expectations were high at Techiman as nine Senior High Schools selected from the Bono East and Upper West Regions locked horns in a battle for supremacy and an opportunity to represent zone eight at the 2022 Onga Cook Art National Competition.
After setting their tables, contestants were ushered into the first phase of the competition, which comprised three rounds.
Round one was the oral test with options A to D, round two was the true or false question, and round three was the Problem of the Day.

Our Lady of Mt. Camel Girls SHS, Akumfi Ameyam SHS, and Kaleo Senior High Technical School dominated with staggering margins at the end of round three.
In the second phase of the competition, contestants had two hours to impress the judges with their culinary skills.

At the end of the contest, Akumfi Ameyam Senior High School emerged the winner with 81.5 per cent.
Our Lady of Mt. Camel Girls SHS place won second place with 71.5 Percent, and Kaleo Senior High Technical School came third with 69 per cent.

Participants received souvenirs from lead sponsor Onga.
New regional champions, Akumfi Ameyam SHS, received ¢1000, sponsored by the Ghana Education Service, to aid in their preparations toward the national competition scheduled to kickstart in Kumasi on March 21.
