The lifeless body of a woman believed to be in her 40s has been found along the Worawora-Apesokubi highway in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region.
The deceased, whose identity is currently unknown, was found half-naked near a bush on Tuesday morning.
The perpetrators of the gruesome act are unknown to members of the community, according to AdomNews correspondent, Obrempongba K. Owusu.
The Apesokubi Police have visited the scene. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Worawora Government Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
When contacted, the Apesokubi Police station officer, Inspector Emmanuel Otto, refused to make further comments on the matter.
