Musician Yaw Tog has revealed the circumstances that lead to his pursuit of music.
According to the rapper, he loved playing football when growing up but one day his mother stopped him from playing.
Speaking on E Vibes, Yaw Tog says he developed a passion for music because he could no longer play football and was lonely after school.
He told Becky that “the first day I wanted to play football, I did it in a forced way because my mum was like “no relax relax” but I did it and one day she came to the park and started talking and told me to stop playing and go home.”
“I was a shy type so I left. From that day, that’s where I started listening to music because I was lonely doing nothing at home. After school, I am in the house and I was like no let me do something. So that was how I started writing music,” he narrated.
Yaw Tog is a Ghana-based African rapper and songwriter. He became famous while still a youngster after releasing his debut single, Sore, in September 2020. Many music fans streamed and downloaded the song Sore, which went viral on the internet.
It dominated the Ghanaian Apple Music Chart for several weeks. Stormzy of the United Kingdom and Kwesi Arthur of Ghana collaborated on the song's remix.
