The Police have directed motorists to use the La-Teshie-Nungua-Tema beach road route of the Accra-Tema Motorway stretch due to an accident on the road.
The directive comes after a truck carrying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) rolled over onto the median strip on the motorway near the Abattoir.
According to them, the use of an alternative route has become imperative due to "the hazardous nature of the product."

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and Police officials are currently at the scene managing the situation.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, the Police noted that a towing vehicle is on standby to recover the rolled over truck from the road.
"Meanwhile, the LPG in the truck is being extracted into another vehicle, a process that will take some hours," the Police added.

Also, personnel from the Airport Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) are at the scene controlling traffic flow.

The Police have pledged to provide a further update "in due course."
