The Member of Parliament (MP) for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem has told the Speaker he cannot afford blade to shave his beard.
According to Samuel Atta-Mills, this is due to the economic hardship in the country.

His revelation follows the Speaker's failure to make him out after he rose to contribute to the discussions in plenary.
Speaker Bagbin had asked, “the honourable member wearing the face mask, is that your beard?”
To which Mr. Atta-Mills jokingly replied, “I don’t have money to buy a blade to shave my beard.”

The Speaker then responded, saying "okay, I understand your age."
The conversation between the Speaker and the MP took place during the review of the Order Paper with the Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso-Boakye.
