Cowbell Ghana, in partnership with the 37 Military Hospital, has marked this year’s World Milk day celebration with a nutrition assessment outreach program for over 2,000 school children in Domeabra Methodist Cluster of Schools.
The program, which is the second of its kind, sought to assess school children's dietary status and advocate for daily consumption of Milk among Ghanaians with emphasis on school children.
The event had paediatricians, dieticians and general medical experts who took the children through a thorough screening process to understand their nutritional well-being and further assess other child-related health issues.

Dieticians from the hospital, together with the Cowbell team, took the opportunity to have a class by class talk with the school children to educate them on the importance of eating a balanced diet and the need to have milk in their meals.
They also explained to the school children the importance of the nutritional component of cowbell milk and encouraged them to have at least a sachet of cowbell milk a day.
The Brand Cowbell took the opportunity to give special rewards to some students through a Q&A session.

The team from the hospital assured the Cowbell team that the result of the outreach will be shared with the school, the brand's team and parents of the children to know the nutritional status of their children and to educate the parents on the appropriate nutrition to support their children’s growth and health needs.
Students were refreshed with different variants of cowbell, which included Chocomalt, Strawberry, Banana and Coconut. They were also presented with packages from the brand.
The event was followed by a donation of assorted Cowbell products to the Paediatric Unit of the 37 Military Hospital.

World Milk Day is an international day established by the Food & Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations to recognise the importance of milk as a global food.
It has been observed on June 1st each year since 2001. The day is intended to provide an opportunity to bring attention to activities connected with the dairy industry.
