Ghana’s mobile telecommunications giant, MTN during the weekend organized a fitness walk for its media partners at Aburi in the Eastern Region.
Also known as 'MTN Media Republic', the programme attracted participants from selected media houses and media associations such as Sports Writers Association of Ghana, (SWAG) Network of Communication Reporters (NCR) and Institute of Financial Journalists.
The 5.9 kilometers walk started from Ayi Mensah and ended at Peduasi while the remaining activities took place at Aburi Gardens.
The participants were taken through a lot of physical activities including aerobics by fitness instructors from the Mental Catalyst Club.
The programme, was the first of its kind organized by the company. It was championed by the Corporate Communications Department of MTN to improve the health of journalists.
Former Chairman of the National Media Commission, Nana Kwasi Gyan Apenteng was one of the senior journalists who participated in and completed the walk.
Speaking after the programme, the Corporate Communications Manager of MTN Georgina Asare Fiagbenu thanked the Management of the Mental Catalyst Club for partnering with her outfit to hold a successful event.
Some of the participants who were full of praises for the Management of MTN made an appeal for the programme to be made an annual event.
