Ace broadcaster, Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) says he has nothing against Ken Ofori-Atta but rather the office of the Finance Ministry.
According to him, the Finance Ministry is occupied by someone and therefore, the statement he made was to enrage the office and not the man.
The acclaimed MC said people do not ponder statements others make before judging and that has resulted in the failure of the country.
“No, I didn’t diatribe against Ken Ofori-Atta, I diatribed against the Ministry of Finance. This is where the construct of our thinking and our speaking fails us”, he said.
His statement comes after he expressed his surprise at government for constantly employing the services of a company that is co-founded by the Finance Minister, Data Bank Financial Services as advisors for some of Ghana’s international loan transactions.
He made this known when speaking in an interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
The broadcaster said that it may be the reason why the country keeps borrowing and insisted it’s a habit that cannot be allowed to continue.
There have been calls for public officials and politicians who find themselves in conflict of interest situations to step aside for investigations to be conducted.
Clarifying his stance in an interview on AM Show on Wednesday with Benjamin Akakpo, KKD said his comment was not against Ken Ofori-Atta.
He added, “it is the office, not the man. The man has his illnesses and I have my illnesses. I will not trade my illnesses for his. He has lovers, I have mine, I will not trade mine for his”.
