Former President, John Dramani Mahama has showered praises on the late Monarch of the UK, Queen Elizabeth II.
Mr Mahama in a Facebook post on the day of her burial [Monday, September 19], said she brought diverse nations together.
He cited her [Queen Elizabeth II] visits to Ghana in 1961 and 1999 to back his claim.

“An era has come to an end. The world salutes a very great woman. She was the commonwealth; such a diplomat, who took it upon herself to bring diverse nations together. Her visits to Ghana in 1961 and 1999 are perfect examples.”

The former President also said he felt the grace of the late Head of Commonwealth when he visited Buckingham Palace in 2014.

“I recall my visit to Buckingham Palace in 2014 with my wife, Lordina, and our interaction. One is struck by her dignity and grace. She had a good sense of humour and clarity of thought.”
He added, “Fare thee well, Queen Elizabeth.”
