The Rotaract Club of Ho with support from other Rotary Clubs in District 1901 has presented some education essentials to pupils of Akrofu Xeviofe in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region.
This follows a needs assessment done by the Club which discovered that pupils of the beneficiary school lack these basic educational essentials
The assessment identified that parents of the pupils are mostly peasant farmers, living impoverished lifestyles.
Due to this, they are unable to provide the basic educational needs for their children.

Most of these pupils do not have the prescribed footwear, compelling them to wear easy wears to school.
"My parents are unable to honor their promise to buy a shoe for me because they don't have money. I wear the easy wear in the house and to school" said Etu Kofi Ransford, a pupil.
In view of this, Rotaract Club of Ho decided to support these needy pupils through its Back-To-School project.
With support from other Rotary Clubs in District 9102, shoes, socks, books, chalk, exercise books, and markers were procured and presented to the school, to be distributed among the pupils.

The President of the Rotaract Club of Ho, Josephine Kotoko-Buckle, said the donation was part of the Club's aim of ensuring children of school going age in their jurisdiction are not deprived of education, due to the lack of basic needs.
She expressed optimism that the items would enhance the education of the beneficiaries and lessen the financial burden on their parents.
The Project Director of the Rotaract Club of Ho, Prince Kotoko, assured of the Club's cooperation to ensure all basic needs of the school are provided, including an Information Communication Technology laboratory.
He said several projects have been mapped out targeted at the less privileged in society to help enhance their livelihoods.
