Brazil suffered a quarterfinal exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup after losing on penalties to Croatia on Friday, December 9.
The game headed into a penalty shootout after Neymar's extra-time opener was cancelled out by Bruno Petkovic late in the second half.
Neymar Jr. stepped up at a crucial time for Brazil and scored the opening goal when the game seemed to need a hero. However, Petkovic had other ideas and drew Croatia levelled.
Dominik Livakovic, just like his heroics against Japan, made two saves from the spot before Marquinhos hit the post with his kick.
Meanwhile, Nikola Vlasic, Lovro Majer, Luka Modric and Mislav Orsic all scored their kicks to ensure that Croatia advanced to the semi-final of the competition.
Zlatko Dalic's men will now face the winner of the game between the Netherlands and Argentina in the next stage of the competition.
