The ongoing public sensitisation on Covid-19 vaccination has received a positive response in the Ashanti region.
The Ghana Health Service and its partners, the United Nations Children’s Fund, have been on a five-day intensive campaign to mob up mass vaccination as Christmas approaches.
Officials are enthused with the rate of response.

The five-day mass Covid-19 vaccination stimulation campaign in the Ashanti Region has seen a sublime increase as the general public responds positively to the exercise.
Various district health officers have adopted several strategies to ensure the success of the operation.

Asamoah Frimpong, 36, a shoemaker was one of the people who benefitted from the third day of the vaccination exercise.
According to him, "due to the myth I have heard about the vaccines I was scared to take the vaccination. But today I have decided to take the vaccination after getting some education from the health team and UNICEF."

Kwadaso District Director of Health, Grace Billi, observed improved compliance with the vaccination exercise.
“In terms of compliance for Kwadaso, it’s been great so far. Starting from the word go, we had lots of people trooping in to vaccinate,” she said.

The Social Behavior Change Officer at UNICEF, Charity Nikoi, explained the trigger for the sensitization exercise.
“UNICEF has always partnered with the Ghana Health Service. We have a great relationship. This is to ensure that the entire country is safe”.
She however lauded the "German Federal Foreign Office for supporting the Ghana Health Service and UNICEF financially to undertake the initiative".
