Ghanaians and football enthusiasts across the world have taken to social media to say a prayer for Black Stars forward, Christian Atsu, who plays for Hatayspor in Turkey.
Earlier today, it was reported that the winger is among the thousands of people left under the rubble of Monday morning’s devastating earthquake in that country.
The 30-year-old, together with the director of his club, Taner Savut, are said to be the subject of a search by the search and rescue team.
Since the news broke, many social media users have taken to their timelines to say a prayer for the speed star.
“May he be rescued unhurt and alive,” one tweep tweeted.
Former President John Mahama, has also joined the crusade while encouraging others to do same.
"Let's continue to pray for our brother, Christian Atsu, and his club director. The city of Hayat is in the region affected by the earthquake. Let's continue to pray that God spares their lives."
