The family of Shadrach Arloo has demanded the CCTV footage of the deceased swallowing cannabis as stated by the Police in its report on the incident.
This, according to the sister of the deceased, Perpetual Didier, is because the cannabis could have been planted in the throat of the deceased.
“It could be that when they [Police] took his body to the Police morgue, somebody planted the weed in his throat so that when the lawyer is present, he will say oh I have seen weed.. so they should provide how he was swallowing it,” she demanded.
She questioned why that particular footage has not been released to the public, unlike the one that shows the deceased being brutalised.
She added that the aspect of his brother being brutalised was also not included in the Police's report.
This, according to her, indicates that there is foul play. Therefore, for justice to prevail, the video footage should be made available to clear all doubts.
“If they are saying they’ve done all investigation and whatever and he swallowed weed, which is wrapped in rubber for which he swallowed eight, I want to ask Ghanaians whether weed is okro for one to be able to swallow eight easily.
"The time that he was swallowing the weed, have the Police given us a footage?” she asked.
Her comment is in reaction to the Police's report that Shadrach Arloo died as a result of “obstruction of his airway by a foreign body”.
It also indicated that bags of cannabis was found in his throat.
But the family has rejected the Police's report on the autopsy.
