The Accra Metropolitan Assembly’s Environmental Health Inspectors on Wednesday caused the arrested of 20 environmental offenders recalcitrant traders at Agbogbloshie in Accra.
However the arrest turned dramatic when offenders resisted arrest thus resulted in serious confrontation that saw other traders running away from the scene.

The arrested offenders also had their food stuffs seized by the officers and were taken to the AMA office.
The environmental health inspectors as part of Joy Clean Ghana campaign had previously gone to Agbogbloshie market to educate traders on how to maintain high environmental cleanliness at where they sell food stuff and other consumables.

The officers saw some food stuff traders had displayed their stuff at the neck of filthy gutters which is against the AMA environmental bye-laws and for this reason the Director of the Environmental Health Department Madam Florence Kuukyi ordered their arrest.

Wednesday’s program was a follow up to arrest offenders who resisted arrested and subsequently brought the event to momentarily hot.
This time the arrest was supervised by two police officers.
