The host of Joy FM’s ‘Showbiz A-Z’, Kwame Dadzie is expecting great outcomes from today’s edition of the show which will be transmitted from Afadjato in the Volta Region.
On Saturday, March 11, 2023, the programme, which airs on Joy 99.7FM from 2pm to 6pm, will explore the tourism potentials of the Volta Region as well as assess the benefits Afadjato has brought to the region.
According to Kwame Dadzie, this is an opportunity to learn about what defines Ghanians and devise ingenious ways of making it add to the financial fortunes of the nation.
“It is always important to learn about people to understand them better. The highlight for me for this is the fact that we are putting the spotlight on the Ewe people and their unique way of life. Influential as Joy FM is, I am looking forward to some good results from this encounter; a positive change in Volta Region’s tourism, arts and culture,” he noted.
The Paramount Chief of the Gbledi Traditional Area, Togbega Homatekpor V, is the special guest for the programme.
The Afadjato edition of ‘Showbiz A-Z, is part of Joy FM’s Ghana Month activities to promote Ghana’s culture in March, the month of Ghana’s independence.
After a successful edition of the outdoor programme in Cape Coast in 2021, there was a encore in Kumasi where the team discovered Asanteman’s rich tourist centres and culture.
Mount Afadja, known as Afadjato to the Ewe people of Ghana and Togo, is one of the highest mountains in Ghana. It is in the Afadjato South District and Hohoe Municipality.
The Afadjato edition of ‘Showbiz A-Z’ will also look at the state of the creative industry in the Volta Region.
The programme will also host Togbe Adabra IV, Mankrado of Gbledi-Gbogame and the Divisional Chief of Gbledi Tongor / actor; Alexander Kwame Nketia, Volta Regional Director of Ghana Tourism Authority, and Chief Moomen, poet, playwright and creative entrepreneur.
The show will broadcast live on Joy 99.7 FM, and also on Joy FM, Joy Prime TV and Joy News Facebook pages.
