Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has urged his colleague, Funke Akindele to restore all the deleted politics-related content on her Instagram.
Taking to his social media to address the actress, Yul Edochie stated that although Funke Akindele lost the gubernatorial elections, those contents are proof of her hard work and she should be proud of them.
“To my dear colleague, @funkejenifaakindele I want to congratulate you for the bold political step you took, running for Lagos State Deputy Governor. You did great. I noticed you deleted all your campaign pictures from your Instagram page,” he wrote.
“Of course, I can’t sit in my house and know your reason for doing so, neither is it my business. But as a concerned friend and colleague, I want to encourage you and others out there. A warrior is always proud of battle scars. The scars are proof that you went to battle and came back alive. You’re a warrior,” Yul Edochie stated.
This comes after Funke Akindele deleted all posts relating to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after the party’s woeful performance at the just-ended governorship election in the state.

Politicians Abdul-Azeez Adediran and Funke Akindele were vying for Lagos governor and deputy governor respectively on the ticket of PDP.
The PDP and its candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, finished a distant third in the elections after polling 62,449 votes.
Incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was declared the winner of the elections polled 762,134 votes, more than double the number of his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who got 312,329.
After deleting her political posts, Funke Akindele posted an appreciation note on her social media pages describing her first attempt at a political journey as a fantastic run.
“I must say, it was an absolute learning curve for me. A lot of things have been learned and unlearned. I sincerely do not regret taking this huge step of running for office,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Yul Edochie believes that the pictures need to be on Funke Akindele’s social media pages forever, adding that they mark the beginning of her political journey.
“It’s a historical moment for you and a rare privilege. Don’t be discouraged by those who are laughing at you for not winning. It’s a human and spiritual honour to be given the opportunity to serve. Funke, you will sit in your office someday as Deputy Governor, Governor or President and look at your first campaign images, and you will have tears of joy in your eyes.”
