A Ghanaian Finance Officer, Michael Mensah Ahorlu, has achieved a joint third position in the world for the Strategic Level Case Study Exam, the final capstone exam of CIMA’s CGMA Professional Qualification.
The accountant by gaining this feat is one step closer to earning the prestigious CGMA designation.
In an interview, the CGMA candidate said he looks forward to earning his CGMA designation and officially becoming a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
While admitting that the process was “thought-provoking,” Mr Ahorlu was glad he successfully challenged himself to attain the achievement.
“I really did not anticipate achieving this milestone and I am grateful to my wife and my tuition provider for supporting me throughout my CGMA journey,” he said.
On his part, the Country Director at AICPA & CIMA said he is proud of Mr Ahorlu for achieving joint third position for the Strategic Level Case Study Exam globally.
Paul Aninakwah said the achievement is a testament to the hard work and commitment the candidate dedicated to building a successful career.
“Michael is well on his way to earning his CGMA designation, which indicates that the finance and accounting professional has completed a rigorous and structured curriculum and is ready to tackle future business challenges.”
The CGMA designation was established in 2012 by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to recognise a unique group of accounting and finance professionals who have reached the highest benchmark of quality and competence.
It is built on extensive research to maintain the highest relevance with employers and help candidates develop the business, digital, people, and leadership skills, needed to build successful careers in accounting, business, and finance.
