Black Meteors head coach Ibrahim Tanko was furious with his players despite winning their opening game at the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ghana took a 3-0 lead in the second half of the game against Congo through an opener from Ernest Nuamah while Emmanuel Yeboah also came off the bench to score twice.
However, the Black Meteors almost bottled their lead as Congo scored two goals in additional time to end the game 3-2.
Speaking after the encounter, Tanko expressed worry over his team's concentration in the dying embers of the game and promised to rectify the errors in subsequent games.
"I am extremely angry with my players. How could we let the match slip away like this?" he quizzed in his post-match presser.
"We will remind them of the objectives we need to achieve and the importance of our presence here."
With the win against Congo, Ghana goes top of Group A and will play Morocco in their game on Tuesday, June 27, knowing that a win will guarantee a semi-final berth.
