Eight Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region are poised for victory after qualified for the quarterfinals stage of the Luv Fm High Schools Debate.
All schools secured slots after thrilling the judges and audience with an adroit performance on several motions of national significance during the round of 16.
It was a “clash of titans” in the intensive debate as each school demonstrated their debating prowess to progress to the next stage.
The battle of wits in the quarterfinals will be between Osei Kyeretwie SHS, Asanteman SHS, Prempeh College, Kumasi Wesley Girls, Oppong Memorial SHS, Presec Bompata, T.I Amass, Kumasi and Kumasi High School.

The first contest in the quarterfinals between the ‘Ahenemma’ of Osei Kyeretwie SHS and ‘Nananom’ of Asanteman SHS kicks-off on Monday, 3 June 2023 on the motion “Wearing a uniform to school is not necessary”.
The second contest between Prempeh College and Kumasi Wesley Girls on Tuesday is on the motion “The retirement age for civil servants should be moved to 70 years”.
On Wednesday, Oppon Memorial SHS will debate Presec Bompata on the motion “Aboboyaa, Pragia and Okada should be banned totally”.
The stage is expected to be exciting on Thursday as winners of the maiden edition, T.I Amass, Kumasi face off defending champions, Kumasi High School, on the motion “DNA should be made mandatory at birth”.
The auditorium of the Christian Service University College will continue to bubble in excitement as the high schools seek supremacy in the Luv Fm High Schools Debate.
