Lead Pastor of Grace Avenue Church, Timothy Bentum is questioning why couples would want to test their sexual harmony during courtship.
According to him, individuals should not be treated as commodities for such experimentation - clarifying that people are not like cars meant to be tested for functionality.
"You are lowering your values by admitting to be tested," Pastor Bentum said on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
In relation to overcoming sexual desires, he expressed concern about diminishing one's values by engaging in pre-marital activities.
He reminded individuals and couples that "you are the apple of God’s eye, you were made in God’s image. You are not a commodity to be tested."
Pastor Bentum implored requiring sexual affirmation before relationships to do away with such thoughts.
"You either love me trusting I am the best thing for you or 'Adios', it’s done," he said.
He encouraged people to shift their focus from pleasing their partners to pleasing God, emphasising that humans are designed to please the creator rather than the creation.
The Grace Avenue Church Pastor ended by saying, “Once you agree to being tested, you are implying that God can create a particular product for you that is not the very best thing for you.”
