The Nigerian Police have assured family, friends and fans of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba aka Mohbad that they will investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the 27-year-old artiste.
The management of Mohbad confirmed the passing of the singer after rumours of his death spread like wildfire on Tuesday.
In its statement, management said, “Imole is finally at peace.”
However, many fans are asking what caused the death of the rising star.
There are plenty of speculations on social media alleging that the singer did not die a natural death considering that the deceased had allegedly reported to the police the threat on his life.
However, the Police Force requested "that individuals refrain from making statements or engaging in activities that could jeopardise the ongoing investigation."
It added, "The Nigeria Police Force is committed to a comprehensive investigation into this matter, as the Lagos State Commissioner of Police has been tasked to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death. Rest assured, updates will be provided as investigations unfold."
The Force encouraged the "family members or close associates with valuable information to approach the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to assist in this process."
