A lead strategist of Movement For Change led by former Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of not having the interest of the Ghanaian populace at heart.
According to Duke Aaron Sasu, both the NDC and the NPP have failed to address key issues which has resulted in the stagnation of the development of the country.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, the lead strategist asserted that, “the duopoly of the NDC and the NPP in their current forms, structurally not representative of the ideals that promote the national discourse of interest at large. So for example, there is a multi-faceted opposition to whatever any party brings.”
He further bemoaned that irrespective of how abysmal either the NDC or the NPP perform, they still have delegates who are willing to vote for them, stressing how problematic it is and how it impedes national development.
Mr Sasu contended that the Movement for Change was launched by Mr Kyerematen to put an end to the seemingly unending cycle of Ghanaians always voting either the NDC or NPP into power irrespective of their performance in governance.
“When you are buying into Alan’s ideas, there is a buying of an association far greater than the individual himself. So you are buying into a movement for change that is distinct from whatever independent candidature you have seen before,” he touted.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of having a variety of political parties to enable the populace to challenge the country's pervading duopoly system.
