The Director of Finance of Parliament, Daniel T. Chirawura, has informed the parliamentary service staff that their December salaries will be disbursed after the Christmas festivities.
In a press statement, Mr Chirawura explained that his office is awaiting the transfer of December salaries from the Controller and Accountant General's Department.
Nevertheless, he assured officers that the parliamentary service has made financial arrangements to provide support during the Christmas holidays.
"Officers of the Parliamentary service are informed that the Service as of today, December 20, is yet to receive notification of transfer of salaries for the month of December 2023."
Consequently, officers of the service may not be paid their salaries for the month of December before the Christmas holidays."
