In a heartfelt message to Ghanaians laced with a touch of her acquired local language prowess, United States Ambassador to Ghana Virginia E. Palmer is hopeful that the year 2024 will be filled with peace and prosperity as this year recedes.
In a video footage containing her well wishes for the yuletide and monitored by JoyNews, Virginia E. Palmer expressed joy that Ghanaians and Americans were celebrating the festivities together here in Ghana and the United States with music, dance, and parties adding that there’s a lot to celebrate this year.
“We’ve helped improve education, public health, access to clean water and support for farmers. We strengthen people-to-people ties with over 6,400 Ghanaians studying in all 50 of the United States, a record. We've worked to facilitate economic development that truly benefits all Ghanaians,” she said
Ghana and the United States are experiencing in recent times what has been described as an enhanced economic partnership with both countries collaborating in a myriad of socio-economic interests, especially post-COVID recovery programme.
The United States Government through Its Embassy in Accra has at all stages assisted Ghana’s bailout recovery plan with the International Monetary Fund which is now cooperating with the Bretton Wood Institution for a 3. Billion Package.
Looking forward to 2024, Ambassador Palmer intimated that “Building on our $3.7 billion in two-way trade and in 2024, we’ll continue our partnership, our friendship, and our work for all Ghanaians”
She added “from my family to yours. Happy Holidays ! and best wishes for a 2024 filled with peace and prosperity. Afehyia Pa! Afi ooo Afi!
