Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has provided clarification regarding the Samanpiid Festival speech he delivered on Thursday, December 28.
In a press statement released on Friday, December 29, he said he delivered the speech on his behalf, although he had initially represented President Akufo-Addo and personally drafted the speech.
Acknowledging an inadvertent error, he apologised for unintentionally reading the speech on behalf of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Minister Boateng emphasised that his primary focus was not to create any problems but rather to contribute to the resolution of the crisis in that particular region.
"I was detailed to represent the President of the Republic of Ghana and personally wrote the speech and inadvertently read it on behalf of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana."
"Thereby state that the speech was my speech and did not emanate from the Vice President himself or his office."
"I do emphasise that the peace we all seek to achieve was the overriding purpose of the message I conveyed in the speech."
