The incumbent Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region, Kobina Tahir Hammond has retained his candidature.
K.T. Hammond polled a total of 311 votes representing 63.86% against his contender, Samuel Darkwa Binfo who polled 125 votes representing 25.67%
K.T. Hammond has been the Member of Parliament for the constituency for five consecutive terms, spanning the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th parliaments.
The Trade and Industry Minister who could not hide his joy said he was the undefeated champion of the Adansi Asokwa Constituency.
“What I want you to know, Mohammed Ali of blessed memory, said that I think after he had beaten George Foreman, he said, ‘I am the undefeated, undisputed heavyweight champion.'
“I remain the undisputed, heavyweight champion of the politics of Adansi Asokwa Constituency,” he said.
He said anyone who wanted to contest him should go and study the necessary tricks.
