Residents of Jirapa, Nyenvaare, and 15 other communities in the Jirapa constituency in the Upper West Region can now boast of accessible water, thanks to the efforts of the Member of Parliament for the area, Cletus Seidu Dapilah.
Recognizing that drinking water from unwholesome sources posed health threats to the residents and their children, the Member of Parliament initiated the drilling of 17 boreholes to provide clean drinking water for the communities.
Previously, residents had to queue for long hours to access water from the existing boreholes or travel long distances to obtain water from unclean sources due to the high demand on the existing boreholes.
Communities such as Nyeni, Da-Uri, Zaghe, Yebile, Katang, Oing-wanware, Kenee, Tuopare, Ul-Kpong, Wuoyiri, Kompore, Jefiri, Nachenyiri, Kur-Ora, Nambeg, and Yagha-Gbaan have also benefited from the water project.
During the drilling of the boreholes, Mr. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, accompanied by some constituency executives of the NDC, emphasized the importance of providing clean water to the residents and mentioned plans to drill additional boreholes in the future.

He disclosed that he funded the drilling of the 17 boreholes from his portion of the District Assembly Common Fund and assured residents of his continued commitment to working in their interests and making a difference in their lives.
At the handing-over ceremony in Nyenvaare, residents praised the MP for providing them with portable drinking water.
The entire Nyenvaare community, along with other beneficiary communities, expressed their sincere gratitude for his dedication and commitment to improving the lives of constituents. They believe that the provision of mechanized boreholes will facilitate access to clean and safe drinking water and will have a significant impact on the communities.
They noted that his leadership and support by way of projects in the Constituency and tireless efforts would be appreciated appropriately and will not go unnoticed as "The boreholes will not only benefit us now but also for generations to come"
