The Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) Church, Ghana has presented relief items to some flood victims in Mepe in the North Tongu District and Tongor Dzemeni in the South Tongu District in the Volta Region.
The items including beverages, toiletries, maize, mattresses, and water, were procured with support from the Presbyterian Church, United States of America.
The Moderator of the E.P Church, Ghana, Rt Rev. Lt. Colonel Bliss Divine Kofi Agbeko (rtd), said 2,760 victims were provided relief items in Mepe, while some 150 victims in the Eestern part of Tongor Dzemeni benefited from the distribution of the relief items.
He explained that the donation was a gesture to bring hope and some comfort to the victims of the man-made disaster.

“God richly bless you brethren in the US for the good job. We will continue to work together to bring hope to people who have become hopeless. And also to give them some comfort and let them know that they have people who love and care about them”, he said.
The Assembly Member for Dzemeni East, Thomas Avudada lamented that the floods which occurred in late 2023, collapsed and submerged some houses, displacing some residents.
He lauded the E.P. Church for the support and appealed for financial aid to help the victims erect makeshift buildings and occupy them.
“I am appealing that you plead to those who gave us this item to support the victims with roofing sheets so we can build some mud houses to accommodate them”, he said.
The victims also benefited from a health screening exercise and free consultations.
