The Women's Forum of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has donated some items to the New Horizon Education Centre for the Blind in Ho, Volta Region.
The donation include six A4 packs of Braille sheets, 25 pieces of stylus, two bags of rice, three gallons of 5L cooking oil, three packs of drinks, one bag of toilet rolls, five packs of toothpaste, packets of tomato puree, powder detergents, and lunch for the kids, among other essentials.
The team also delivered a variety of educational and food items to support the students and staff of the institution.

Team leads Dina Dzifa Amefinu and Jemima Addo, said the donation was part of their efforts to extend support and convey a Mother's Day gesture.
Madam Amefinu explained that the forum is committed to reaching out to the less privileged on occasions like Mother's Day.
She recounted her visit to the school, which prompted the action to donate to address their pressing needs.

Additionally, Madam Amefinu said the gesture is part of a broader effort being replicated across all regions of Ghana.
Receiving the donations, the Director of the centre, Mr Eric Kwablah Ofori, expressed gratitude for the donation as it would go a long way to help improve the lives of the students.

He also shed light on some of the challenges faced by the institution, including a shortage of human resources for special needs education, insufficient learning materials such as braille papers and embossers, as well as the lack of laptops for accessible computing training.
Mr Ofori appealed to the government, individuals, and benevolent organisations to support their mission of providing these children with a brighter future.
