The Ghana Police Service has provided details surrounding the discovery of the body of one of its officers in the Bobiri Forest at Kubease in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
G/Sgt Amoah Moses, attached to the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters in Kumasi, was found dead at the known location following a distress call received on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, around 11:20 am.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the officer lying unconscious in a pool of blood, dressed in a green long sleeve shirt, khaki trousers, and black boots. He had gunshot wounds on his right leg below the knee.
Additionally, a single-barrel gun and a machete were found beside him, as reported in a police wireless statement.
Efforts were made to transport the officer to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The circumstances surrounding the officer's demise remain under investigation by the authorities as they work to determine the events leading up to the tragic incident.
